A conversation with Ivan Vyrypaev - cancelled!
Because of a tragic event, Ivan Viripajev could not travel to Budapest.

Ivan Vyrypaev is a Russian dramatist, actor, film director, scriptwriter, and producer. In 2013–2016, he was the artistic director of the Praktika Theater in Moscow. He is one of the most recognized contemporary Russian dramatists. Together with Viktor Ryzhakov, he launched the “Oxygen” (Kislorod) artistic movement. His distinctive post-dramatic works are performed all over the world, and they have been translated into more than twenty languages. He has received numerous awards at various festivals, including the most prestigious award in Russian theater, the Golden Mask Award. Vyrypaev wrote The Drunks at the request of the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. The world premier in 2014 was directed by Viktor Ryzhakov. The conversation with the dramatist will address the process of the creation of the drama, its social and metaphysical implications, and the contrasts and overlaps between classic and contemporary theater.
